Fanck, Arnold b. March 6, 1889 d. September 28, 1974 Motion Picture Director. He was characterized as a martinet by a number of actors who he directed. His actors often suffered bruises, cuts and injuries as a result of being in some of his films. He did not believe in stand-in's for actors and made it known the actors would be doing their own stunts. He made a number of documentary and action films that were inspired by his love of geology.
