Vaughan, Henry b. April 17, 1622 d. April 28, 1695 Poet. Born into a middle-class Welsh family, Vaughan is one of the best known of the British Metaphysical poets. The major poetry of Vaughan, all religious in nature, was published in 1650 and 1655 in the two parts of "Silex Scintillans" ("Sparkling Flint").
