  Blues Musician. He is best known for his association with early blues legend Charley Patton, and later a young guitarist and singer named McKinley Morganfield, who would later go onto fame as recording artist Muddy Waters. A native of Anguilla, Mississippi, Sims began his interest in music at a young age. While growing up he learned to play a wide variety of instruments including the fiddle, violin, mandolin, guitar, and piano, from his grandfather.
