Evans, Nathan b. June 24, 1804 d. September 27, 1879 US Congressman. Elected to represent Ohio's 14th District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1847 to 1851. Taylor, Joseph Danner b. 1830 d. 1899 U.S. Congressman. This native of Belmont County, Ohio began his career as an educator in the Ohio villages of Antrim and Fairview before leaving Guernsey County to attend law school in Cincinnati. In 1860 he returned to eastern Ohio settling in Cambridge to begin his law practice. In 1861 he also entered the newspaper business becoming owner of the ‘Guernsey Times." He owned the paper for ten years.
