Makarios III, Archbishop b. August 13, 1913 d. August 3, 1977 Cypriot Churchman and Statesman. He was born, Mikhail Khristodolou Mouskos in Pano Panayia, Paphos, Cyprus, on August 13, 1913. In 1960 he became Archbishop of the autocephalous Orthodox Church of Cyprus and served also as President of the Republic of Cyprus.
