Simon, Michel b. April 9, 1895 d. May 30, 1975 Actor. One of the most renowned of all French character stars. Born in Geneva, Switzeland, Simon began his performing career as a magician, clown and acrobat's stooge in a dancers' show. He then decided to become an actor and joined Sascha Pitoëff's company. When actor Louis Jouvet replaced Pitoëff, Simon was given more prominent roles in plays by Shakespeare, Bernard Shaw and Oscar Wilde.
