De Veyra, Jaime Carlos b. November 4, 1873 d. March 7, 1963 Philippine Statesman. He graduated from Manila's College of San Juan de Letran in 1893, and engaged in graduate studies at the University of Saint Thomas. In 1899 he became Secretary to Leyte Province's Military Governor, and later worked as a journalist and served on Cebu's Municipal Council. From 1906 to 1907 de Veyra was Governor of Leyte, and from 1907 to 1909 he served in the Philippine House of Representatives. Ocampo, Pablo b. January 25, 1853 d. February 5, 1925 Philippine statesman. Born while the Philippines was a Spanish possession, he graduated from Saint Thomas University in 1882, studied law, and became an attorney in Manila. From 1883 to 1890 he served as a prosecutor and in various positions within the royal court system. In 1898 Ocampo became Professor of Law at the University of Malolos.
