McNally, James b. 1839 d. November 26, 1904 Congressional Medal of Honor recipient. James McNally served in the 3rd and the 8th US Calvary from 1858–1883. Wounded during the Civil War battle of Valverde, February 21, 1862. After his final discharge, McNally lived in Hatch, Hillsboro, and Kingston New Mexico where he worked several mining claims. He died in Kingtson New Mexico on November 26, 1904.
