The founder of Manila, Philippines, he served with Felipe de Salcedo, Miguel Lopez de Lagazpi, and Juan de Salcedo, for the Conquest of the Philippines in 1565. De Salcedo, Juan b. 1549 d. March 11, 1576 Spanish Conquistador. Born in Mexico, de Salcedo was one of the last great conquistadors. He was the grandson of Miguel Lopez de Lagazpi, and the brother of Felipe de Salvedo, two other well-known conquistadors. Lopez De Legazpi, Miguel b. 1502 d. August 20, 1572 1st Govenor and Captain General of the Philippines, Spanish Conquistador. Born in Zumarraga, Guipuzcoa, Spain in 1502.
