Apple, Andrew O. b. January 30, 1845 d. June 7, 1890 Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. Born in Northampton, Pennsylvania, he served during the Civil War in Company I, 12th West Virginia Volunteer Infantry, rising to Corporal. He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery in the Union Army assaults on Confederate positions at Petersburg, Virginia on April 2, 1865. His citation reads "Conspicuous gallantry as color bearer in the assault on Fort Gregg." McClure, George b. 1771 d. August 16, 1851 US Army General. He emigrated at age 20 and settled in Bath, New York. He became an attorney and served in the New York Assembly and as Sheriff, Surrogate Judge and County Judge. McClure was also involved in several businesses, including a gristmill and a ferry on Cayuga Lake.
