Yeshwant Ghadge b. November 16, 1921 d. July 10, 1944 World War II Victoria Cross Recipient. Born in Palasgaon, Village, India, he served as a Naik (Corporal) in the 5th Mahratta Light Infantry, Indian Army. At Tiber Valley, Italy, on July 10, 1944, Naik Ghadge commanded a rifle section which came under heavy machine-gun fire at close range which killed or wounded almost all members of the section.
