Craig, James b. September 10, 1824 d. March 18, 1861 Crimean War Victoria Cross Recipient. He served as a Colour Sergeant in the Scots Fusilier Guards. On the night of September 6, 1855, during the siege of Sevastopol, Crimea, Colour Sergeant Craig with a drummer went out to the enemy line to save the life of a supposedly wounded officer. When they reached the officer of the Scots Fusilier Guards, he was in fact mortally wounded and died before he could be reached but they brought the body back to there own lines.
