Curry, John [memorial] b. September 9, 1949 d. April 15, 1994 Champion Figure Skater. He was born and died in England. He won an Olympic gold medal and the World Championships in 1976. He was famous for combining ballet and modern dance influences with skating, and was known as the "Nureyev of the Ice." He brought his skating show to Broadway in 1978 under the name of "Ice Dancing."
