Edwards, Wilfred b. February 15, 1893 d. January 2, 1972 World War I Victoria Cross Recipient. Born in Norwich, England, he served as a Private in the 7th Battalion, Light Infantry, British Army. In actions August 16, 1917 at Langemarck, Belgium, when all the company officers were lost, Private Edwards, without hesitation and under heavy machine-gun and rifle fire, dashed forward, bombed through the loopholes a surmounted German fort and waved to his company to advance.
