Stadler, Ernst b. August 8, 1883 d. October 30, 1914 Poet. He is considered one of the three leading figures of early German Expressionism. Unlike the work of his compatriots Georg Heym and Georg Trakl, Stadler's poetry favors intellectual probing over despair, and is often musical in its lyrical effect. His verse appeared in two volumes, "Preludes" (1905) and "The Departure" (1914). Stadler was born in Colmar, Germany.
