Clark, Gene b. November 17, 1944 d. May 24, 1991 Musician. Born Harold Eugene Clark in Tipton, Missouri, he was one of folk rock's most important innovators during the mid-1960s. In 1963, he was a member of the ‘New Christy Minstrals' when he relocated to Los Angeles, in 1964. There with guitar player Roger McGuinn, he founded his group ‘The Byrds'.
