Friel, John Bryan 'Jack' b. August 26, 1898 d. December 12, 1995 College Basketball Coach. He was the men's head basketball coach at Washington State University from 1928 to 1957. He led the Cougars to a record of 495 wins against 377 losses, including five West Coast conference titles, and a 39 to 34 loss to Wisconsin in the 1941 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) title game.
