Weathers, Corp. Lawrence Carthage b. May 14, 1890 d. September 29, 1918 World War I Victoria Cross Recipient. Born in New Zealand, he served as a Corporal in the 43rd Battalion, Australian Imperial Forces. On September 2, 1918, the day after the capture of Mont St Quentin, France, Corporal Weathers was with a party of men sent in to clear remaining enemy positions at Peronne.
