Apponyi de Nagy-Appony, Geraldine b. August 6, 1915 d. October 22, 2002 Queen of Albania. She married King Ahmet Zog I of the Albanians in 1938. The royal family was forced to leave the country in April 1939.after Albania was invaded by Italy. The Royal family lived on the French Riviera. Tashko-Koco, Tefta b. November 2, 1910 d. December 29, 1947 Opera Singer. A soprano, she was her country's best known singer over a relatively brief career. Born at Faiyum to an Albanian family, she was raised in Egypt until moving with her family to Korce, Albania, in 1921 and showed early evidence of musical talent. Sent to Montpellier, France, for training in 1927 she studied at the Paris Conservatory from 1932 until 1936 when she returned home.
