Boroimhe, Brian 'Brian Boru' b. 941 d. April 23, 1014 Irish Monarch. King of Ireland whose military gifts enabled him to deal a succession of defeats against the Norsemen and their allies. His last battle, at Clontarf, was also succesful, but being too old to fight himself he remained in his tent where he was killed by a fleeing soldier.
