Adams, James Frank b. August 26, 1844 d. March 12, 1922 Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served during the Civil War as a Private in Company D, 1st West Virginia Volunteer Cavalry, enlisting at age 17 on September 12, 1861. He was awarded the CMOH for capturing the State flag of the 14th Virginia (CSA) Cavalry at Nineveh, Virginia, on November 12 1864. He himself was captured during the war, and spent some time as a prisoner of the Confederates.
