Grant, Peter b. 1824 d. January 10, 1868 Indian Mutiny British Victoria Cross Medal Recipient. He served as a Private in the 93rd Regiment, Sutherland Highlanders. On November 16, 1857, he was part of a relief column to help evacuate the garrison at Lucknow, India. Breaking through the wall of the Secundra Bagh palace, Private Grant killed five of the enemy with one of their own swords, captured their officer and the color standard.
