Thapa, Lalbahadur b. February, 1906 d. October 20, 1968 World War II British Victoria Cross Medal Recipient. He served as a Subadar officer, 1st Battalion, 2nd King Edward VII's Own Gurkha Rifles, Indian Army. On the night of April 5 and morning of April 6, 1943, Subadar Thapa was in command of a silent attack at Rass-es-Zouai, Tunisia. Leading two sections, he made first contact with the enemy at the foot of a pathway winding up a narrow cleft which was thickly studded with enemy posts.
