Hafiz, Abdul b. September 4, 1915 d. April 6, 1944 World War II British Victoria Cross Medal Recipient. He served as a Jemadar in the 9th Infantry of the Indian Army. On April 6, 1944, his unit met heavy enemy resistance at Imphal, India. Jemadar Hafiz led an attack against Japanese forces was wounded, but still continued to attack enemy positions and killed several of the enemy.
