Mackay, Andrew Jackson b. August 7, 1827 d. January 18, 1901 Civil War Union Brevet Brigadier General. Born in Caledonia, New York, he had settled in Texas before the Civil War, becoming a successful cattle rancher. When the war began, he lost all his cattle when it was confiscated by Confederate forces.
