Lister, Joseph b. October 19, 1886 d. January 19, 1963 World War I Victoria Cross Medal Recipient. He served as a Sergeant in the 1st Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers, British Army. At the 3rd Battle of Ypres Belgium, October 9, 1917, seeing that the advance of his company was held up by German machine-gun fire, Sergeant Lister went ahead of his men toward the gun.
