Gourley, Cyril Edward b. January 19, 1893 d. January 31, 1982 World War I Victoria Cross Medal Recipient. He served as a Sergeant in the 276th West Lancashire Brigade, Royal Field Artillery. At the Battle of Cambrai, Epehy France, on November 30, 1917, he was in command of a section of howitzers. During an advance, German forces were within a few hundred yards of him, both to the front and on one flank.
