Anderson, Charles Groves Wright b. February 12, 1897 d. November 11, 1988 World War II Victoria Cross Recipient. During World War I he served with South African forces and was awarded the Military Cross. He served as a Lieutenant-Colonel, Commanding 2/19th Australian Infantry Battalion, 8th Australian Division in World War II. Anderson was awarded the Victoria Cross for gallantry at Maur River in Malaya from January 18 to 22, 1942 and was a prisoner of war for three and a half years. McDougall, Stanley Robert b. July 23, 1890 d. July 7, 1968 World War I Victoria Cross Medal Recipient. He served as a Sergeant, in the 47th Battalion, Queensland Australian Imperial Forces. At Dernancourt, France, March 28, 1918, Sergeant McDougall was on watch at a post for his unit when the Germans attacked. He picked up a Lewis gun, attacked two enemy machine-gun teams and killed their crews.
