Lewis, Hubert William b. May 1, 1896 d. February 22, 1977 World War I Victoria Cross Recipient. Born in Milford Haven, Wales, he served as a Private in the 11th Battalion, Welch Regiment, British Army. During actions at Macukovo, Greece, October 22 and 23, 1916, while on duty during a raid, Private Lewis was twice wounded on reaching the enemy trenches, but refused to be attended to.
