Duffy, James b. November 17, 1889 d. April 7, 1969 World War I Victoria Cross Recipient. Born in Gweedore, Ireland, he served as a Private in the 6th Battalion, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, British Army. In actions at Kereina Peak, Palestine on December 27, 1917, while the company was holding a very exposed position, Private Duffy, a stretcher-bearer, and another stretcher-bearer went out to bring in a seriously wounded comrade.
