Albrecht, Herman b. 1876 d. January 6, 1900 2nd Boer War Victoria Cross Recipient. Born in Burgersdorp, South Africa, he served as a Trooper in the Imperial Light Horses, South African Forces. On January 6, 1900, during the attack on Wagon Hill, at Ladysmith, South Africa, Trooper Albrecht with an officer of the Royal Engineers, led their force on re-occupied position at a critical moment.
