Temple, John b. 1632 d. March 10, 1704 Politician. The inscription is no longer legible, but a sign in the churchyard reads: "The burial place of Sir John Temple, Speaker of the Irish Parliament, and nine members of his family down to 1791. The family seat was moved to Broadlands before the superstructure was completed." John Temple was born in Ireland, but educated in England, where he was called to the bar.
