Secord, Laura b. September 13, 1775 d. October 17, 1868 Canadian Heroine of the War of 1812. Born in Massachusetts in 1775, she moved to Canada with her parents and siblings after the American Revolution. In 1794 she married James Secord. Soucek, Karel b. 1948 d. 1985 Daredevil. On July 2, 1984, he made history when he went over Niagara Falls in a barrel. Soucek's 2.7 meter long 1.5 diameter cylindrical shaped barrel with fibreglass mouldings at either end was insulated with liquid foam, and equipped with snorkel for breathing and 2 eye holes to look out.
