Johnson, Noble Jacob b. August 23, 1887 d. March 17, 1968 US Congressman. In 1911 he was admitted to the bar and opened a law practice in Terre Haute, Indiana. From 1917 to 1924, he was a deputy DA and later prosecuting attorney for the forty-third judicial circuit of Indiana. In 1925, he was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-ninth, Seventieth, and Seventy-first Congresses, serving until 1931. He was reelected to the Seventy-sixth Congress in 1939 and to the four succeeding Congresses, serving until his resignation. Sterling, John T. b. 1841 d. 1920 Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Corporal in the Union Army in Company D, 11th Indiana Infantry. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action on September 19, 1864 at Winchester, Virginia. His citation reads "With one companion captured 14 of the enemy in the severest part of the battle."
