Cannon, Gus b. 1874 d. October 15, 1979 Musician. Born in Bed Banks, Mississippi, he was a remarkable musician whom could play five-string banjo and jug simultaneously. He was the best known of all the jugband musicians and a seminal pioneer figure of the blues scene. In the 1920s, he formed his band the ‘Jug Stompers' and was signed to the RCA Victor label.
