Barradas, Rafael b. January 7, 1890 d. February 12, 1929 Painter. Born of Spanish parents in Montevideo, Uruguay, he moved to Barcelona in 1913, where he would spend most of his career. He worked as illustrator for the magazine "Alfar", and with Jorge Luis Borges for "Tableros." Barradas became a leader of the avant-garde in Spanish painting.
