Blackburn, Luke Pryor b. June 16, 1816 d. September 14, 1887
Kentucky Governor. Blackburn was a physician, and active in the Confederate cause during the War Between the States. He was accused of trying to infect Northern cities with yellow fever. After the war he devoted his efforts to fighting yellow fever in Tennessee, Florida, and Kentucky. He was elected governor in 1879. Blackburn's administration was responsible for several major reforms, including the state prison system.

Civil War Confederate Brigadier General. His brother was Union Major General Thomas Leondias Crittenden. Was not a successful commander, and resigned his commission in October 1862. His grave in the State Cemetery can be difficult to find, because his name on his marker is illegible. He is buried in the family plot, Section N, Lot 198, with a small stone marker on which only his dates of birth and death are legible.
