Barber, James b. July 11, 1841 d. June 26, 1925 Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. Served in the Civil War as a Corporal in Company G, 1st Rhode Island Volunteer Light Artillery. He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery at Petersburg, Virginia on April 2, 1865. His citation reads “Was one of a detachment of 20 picked artillerymen who voluntarily accompanied an infantry assaulting party, and who turned upon the enemy the guns captured in the assault”. Dixon, Nathan Fellows b. December 13, 1774 d. January 29, 1842 US Senator from Rhode Island. Born in Plainfield, Connecticut, he graduated from what is now Brown University in 1799, was admitted to the bar two years later and began practice in New London County. In 1802 he settled in Westerly, Rhode Island, where he pursued both law and banking, and in 1829 was named President of Westerly's Washington Bank. Dunn, Herbert Omar b. May 27, 1857 d. March 6, 1939 US Navy Admiral, Inventor. He began his career as a cadet on the sloop of war ship USS Constellation in 1877 and was commissioned a US Navy Ensign in 1881. Rising through the ranks, he was promoted Rear Admiral in 1915. During World War I, he was appointed the first commander of U.S. naval forces stationed at the U.S. Naval Base at Ponta Delgada, Azores. Frink, Henry Alexander b. November 23, 1829 d. May 12, 1892 Civil War Union Brevet Brigadier General.
