Abel, Clarence John 'Taffy' b. May 28, 1900 d. August 1, 1964 Professional Hockey Player. A native of Sault Sainte. Marie, Michigan, he played as a Defenseman for the New York Rangers from 1926 to 1929, and the Chicago Blackhawks from 1929 to 1934. In 1924 he played hockey for the United States during the Winter Olympics, and received the Silver Medal as the team came in second to the Canadian team. O'Neill, Stephen b. December 23, 1837 d. October 20, 1909 Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor recipient. He entered the Union Army at New York and served as a Corporal in Company E, 7th U. S. Infantry. In the conflict at Chancellorsville, Virginia, on May 1,1863, he took up the unit colors from the hands of the flag bearer who had been shot down and carried them through the remainder of the battle. Pitre, Didier 'Cannonball' b. September 1, 1883 d. July 29, 1934 Hall of Fame Professional Hockey Player. He played for the teams, Montreal Nationals (1903 to 1905), Michigan Soo Indians (1904 to 1907), Montreal Shamrocks (1907 to 1908), Edmonton Eskimos (1907 to 1908), Renfrew Millionaires (1908 to 1909), Vancouver Millionaires (1913 to 1914), and the Montreal Canadiens (1909 to 1923).
