Ford Jr., Jacob b. February 19, 1738 d. January 10, 1777 American Revolutionary Militia Officer. Second son and sixth child of eight born to Jacob and Hannah Ford of Morristown, New Jersey. In 1762, he married Theodosia Johnes, the daughter of the local Presbyterian minister. They would have five children. Phoenix, Jonas b. January 14, 1788 d. May 4, 1859 US Congressman. He was a successful merchant in New York City when appointed a commissioner of the Croton Aqueduct Works in 1842.
