Winchester, Gen. James b. February 5, 1752 d. July 27, 1826 United States Army Brigadier General. At the start of the War of 1812, he was a Captain in the Tennessee Militia. In March 1812, he was commissioned a Brigadier General in the US Army, in command of the Army of the Northwest, Ohio.
