Jones, Louis Marshall 'Grandpa' b. October 20, 1913 d. February 19, 1998 Musician, Comedian. Born in Niagra, Kentucky, he was a country music comedian banjo player, fondly known as Grandpa Jones. He began performing old-time banjo and singing in the 1920s, receiving national attention on radio by the 1930s, with recorded hits such as "Rattler" and "Mountain Dew". He joined the Grand Ole Opry as a member in 1946 and remained there throughout his career.
