Barstow, John Lester b. February 21, 1832 d. June 28, 1913 Vermont Governor. He was educated in Shelburne, Vermont, and became a teacher when he was fifteen. After living briefly in Detroit, Michigan, he returned to Shelburne and began farming, also serving as Assistant Clerk of the Vermont House of Representatives. Snelling, Richard Arkwright b. February 18, 1927 d. August 14, 1991 Vermont Governor.
