Tucker, Ebenezer b. November 15, 1758 d. September 5, 1845 US Congressman. During the Revolutionary War, he served with General George Washington at the Battle of Long Island and other engagements. Afterwards he moved to Tuckerton, New Jersey, which was named after him, where he was active in mercantile and shipbuilding pursuits. In 1791 he was commissioned the first collector of revenue and postmaster of Tuckerton by President Washington.
