• Finch, Sir John   b. 1626  d. November 18, 1682
  Doctor and Fellow of the Royal Society. Began diplomatic career and became ambassador to Constantinople (1672) where he was accompanied by his constant companion Sir Thomas Baines (q.v.). They are buried together in an elaborate memorial. (Bio by: David Conway)
