Connor, SGT. James Phillip b. January 12, 1919 d. July 27, 1994 World War II Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Sergeant in the US Army in Battle Patrol, 7th Infantry, 3d Infantry Division. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action at Cape Cavalaire, Southern France on August 15, 1944. His citation reads in part "Again emphasizing the prevalent urgency of the mission, he impellied his men toward a group of buildings honeycombed with enemy snipers, and machine guns. Ferrell Jr., Howard Leroy 'Toots' b. September 21, 1929 d. October 11, 2002 Negro League Baseball Player. Delaware Hall of Fame member. Howard was a member of the Negro League teams the Newark Eagles, Baltimore Elite Giants, and the Chicago American Giants. He served in the military during the Korean War. It was while playing in an Army League football game that Howard injured his shoulder, ending his career as a baseball player.
