  US Congressman. Elected to represent Connecticut's 2nd District in the United States House of Representatives, he served from 1867 to 1869. He also served as a Member of the Connecticut State House of Representatives in 1851, and 1858, Mayor of Waterbury, Connecticut, in 1852, and as Lieutenant Governor of Conecticut from 1870 to 1871.
