Burke, John b. February 25, 1859 d. May 14, 1937 Governor of North Dakota and Treasurer of the United States. Born to Irish immigrant parents, he graduated from Iowa State University with a law degree in 1886. He practiced law in Devils Lake, North Dakota, and was elected to both the North Dakota House of Representatives and State Senate. Maddock, Walter Jeremiah b. September 11, 1880 d. January 25, 1951 Governor of North Dakota. Served as Governor from 1928 to 1929 taking over for Governor Sorlie when he died in 1928. After leaving office Maddock became senior administrative officer of the regional Agricultural Adjustment Administration. Moses, John b. June 12, 1885 d. March 3, 1945 Democrat Politician from North Dakota. He served as Governor of North Dakota from 1938-1944 and in the US Senate for 2 months in 1945.
