September 11, 2001 He was the NY fire department chaplain who was inside the burning World Trade Center administering last rites to a dying firefighter when a piece of debris struck him on the head, killing him. He pitched for five different teams in three leagues (The National League, Union Association and American Association) during his five year career which lasted from 1878 and 1885. He never had a winning season in the Major Leagues, with his best year being 13-22 in 1878 for Indianapolis of the NL...his first year in the Majors. Prater, Dave b. May 9, 1937 d. April 9, 1988 R&B Musician. A native of Ocilla, Georgia, he was a member of the popular rhythm and blues group, 'Sam & Dave.' Both Prater and Moore played in soul and rhythm and blues clubs throughout the 1950s, before meeting up in the early 1960s. The group was formed in 1961 after Prater met Sam Moore at a talent contest while they were both at the King of Hearts Club in Miami, Florida. Quinn, Alexander M. b. 1866 d. May 4, 1906 Spanish-American War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served in United States Army during the War with Spain as a Sergeant in Company A, 13th United States Infantry. He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery at Santiago, Cuba, on July 1, 1898. His citation reads "Gallantly assisted in the rescue of the wounded from in front of the lines and under heavy fire from the enemy". His Medal was awarded to him on June 22, 1899.
