Mrs. Alice Sweet Walker died at a hospital in Chicago, Thursday evening, Jan. 24, 1901 aged 46 years, 8 months. She was born in Conneaut township,but for 28 years, had made her home in this place. She had been in poor health nearly all that time. There was a severe operation performed for tumor on Monday and she appeared to be doing as well as expected to within a few moments of her death. She was usually bright and cheerful and bore her suffering these years with great patience, trusting in the Lord. The funeral was held at the Christian church in this place Monday, Rev. Dillen officiating. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. AF Mathews of Conneaut, Ohio, and Miss Leta of Polk, Pa., also a sister, Mrs. SH Russel of Harvey, Ill, and four brothers, Milton, Sherman, Will and Eward {Edwin} Sweet.

Mrs. Alice Walker, of this place. died at the Post Graduate Hospital in Chicago on Thursday of last week. Death was the result of an operation for the removal of a tumor. Deceased was 46 years old. She left here last summer for a visit at the home of her sister, Mrs. Russell, in Harvey, Ill., and went from there to the hospital. She leaves two daughters. The remains were brought here on Monday morning, accompanied by Mrs. Russell and the daughter of the deceased, Mrs. Mathews, and husband, of Conneaut, Ohio. The funeral was held in the Christian church at 10 am, and the remains buried in Spring cemetery.
